In Memoriam – Jimmy B Biggins

The Board of Directors was saddened to learn that saxophonist Jimmy B Biggins had passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018. Jimmy grew up in Ohio and moved to New England to attend the Berklee College of Music.

Connecticut became Jimmy’s home and many of us had known Jimmy for years.

His working career was spent entertaining as a professional tenor saxophonist. Jimmy played both locally and internationally with many musicians. Many enduring friendships were made through his music.

He enjoyed playing for charity benefits especially at Christmas time for homeless children. If you didn’t know Jimmy personally, you probably heard him play with many groups.

Jimmy’s friends have started a GoFundMe page for his wife, Kathie. As of June 30, they’ve raised about half of their $10,000 goal.

As you are probably aware, this world was made a much sadder place with the loss of sax great, Jimmy Biggins on Monday night 6/4/18.

To make a sad situation even more painful, Jimmy’s life-long soulmate and wife Kathie has been suffering from Ataxia for the last few years, a rare and debilitating disease that affects fewer then 200,00 people. Jimmy was not only her primary caregiver, he was also the sole breadwinner.

Kathie needs our help! In honor of our sweet and amazing friend Jimmy we have set up a Go Fund Me to help her out. We know that money can be tight for all of us, but every little bit helps. Please donate as much as you can!
